A place where beauty meets the land – and harvest becomes meditation

When a medieval hamlet feels as though it has stepped out of a dream – ancient stone walls, cobbled lanes, rolling hills dissolving into woods and vineyards – you realize that Italy can still surprise in its most authentic form. This is Solomeo: a small village that has reinvented itself through a bold vision – restoring dignity to time, work, and beauty.

Brunello Cucinelli’s Humanistic Dream

The renaissance of Solomeo bears the signature of Brunello Cucinelli, an enlightened entrepreneur and global ambassador of Italian excellence. Through his high-end cashmere company, he chose to restore life and meaning to this hamlet, transforming it into a model of humanistic enterprise – a virtuous balance between business, culture, spirituality, and community.

A theater, a School of Arts and Crafts, a library, a foundation, philosophical gardens — every element is designed to create harmony between humanity and nature, work and beauty, progress and memory. It is a realized utopia – on a human scale.

Wine, Olive Oil, Vineyards: A Return to the Land

Yet the story of Solomeo extends beyond craftsmanship. The vineyards surrounding the hamlet have been revived through a project rooted in ethical and sustainable agriculture.

This vision gave birth to the wines of the Castle of Solomeo: elegant blends of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese that reflect the authentic character of Umbria.

Alongside the wines, an extra virgin olive oil is produced from centuries-old olive trees cultivated with meticulous care. Each bottle embodies a philosophy that is slow, respectful, and essential.

A Hamlet Designed for Contemplation

Walking through Solomeo feels like stepping into a suspended moment in time: the Church of San Bartolomeo, the Castle, the Forum of the Arts, the Wood of Spirituality, the Philosophers’ Garden.

Every detail is thoughtfully curated; every space engages in dialogue with the visitor’s inner world. The journey becomes intimate, cultural, and refined – for those seeking a different Italy: quiet, profound, and deeply authentic.
